Gerald Stewart began his professional career at Walter Payton College Preparatory School, where he spent eight years as the Safety Director. Thereafter, Gerald became the founding Dean of Discipline at Gary Comer College Preparatory School within the Noble Street Network of charter schools. After two years of setting up a training program for incoming disciplinarians, he joined the Academy for Urban Leadership (AUSL) as a consultant for Chicago Public Schools. At AUSL’s Manager of Educational Support, Gerald leads the hiring, training, and ongoing professional development of support staff at the network’s 25 schools.

Mr. Stewart has received training in “Crisis Prevention and Preparedness: Comprehensive School Safety Planning” from the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI). Such trainings have been invaluable as he engages in the ongoing process of equipping the AUSL network with cutting edge safety instruction.
