Michael Troop

Dr. Michael Troop is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Urban Scholars Teacher Education Partnership at National Louis University’s National College of Education. He has also served as the Science Coordinator for preK-12 curriculum and instruction for the Academy for Urban School Leadership, where he provided professional development for teachers and administrators in 24 urban public schools in Chicago.
Dr. Troop has created a K-12 curriculum sequence for science education that is utilized by multiple schools in Chicago. Further, he has developed a residency program at National Louis University that provides pre-service teachers and opportunity to work in schools throughout their program.
Dr. Troop has conducted workshops on Differentiated Instruction, Science Education and Classroom Management. He is also developing the train-the-trainer model for the Prader-Willi USA organization that will be used to train educators across the country on how to best serve students with Prader-Willi Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder.
