Linda Welch has been recognized as an excellent leader and educator at the local, national, and state level. In 1992 she was recognized by the State of Illinois as a Those Who Excel recipient. In 1997 Linda was honored as Assistant Principal of the Year for the State of Illinois by the Illinois Principals Association and the National Association of Secondary School Principals. In 2005 Linda was accepted to, and completed, a summer graduate program offered through the Principal’s Center at Harvard University.
Linda recently completed seven years as a principal at the elementary level in Downers Grove, Illinois. Her success in that and other school assignments has been due to her focus on students, her ability to build strong and effective partnerships with key stakeholders, and her deep understanding of effective educational practice.
Linda draws from her 31 years of educational experience to provide engaging and on target staff development in her areas of expertise. Teachers and administrators leave her workshops with a deeper understanding of the big picture as well as with relevant strategies, skills, and activities that can be utilized immediately. Her background includes teaching special needs students in public and private school settings; administrative positions in elementary, middle school, and high school settings; as well as work consulting nationally and teaching graduate level courses in special education for Northeastern Illinois University.
