Dr. MaryBeth Webeler has 35 years of educational experience as a K-6 teacher and principal in Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois as well as Coordinator of Gifted and Talented and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction in the Downers Grove School District in Du Page County, Illinois. Dr. Webeler was recognized by the National School Public Relations Association for the strong partnership she builds with parents and community and Illinois Association of School Administrators for her devotion to students, parents and staff. The Friends of the Gifted (FRoG) also honored MaryBeth for the difference she made as Coordinator of the Gifted and Talented program in the Downers Grove Grade School District through her support and dedication to students.
Dr. Webeler guided the Downers Grove Grade School District 58 community through the successful adoption of a standards-based report card, K-8, development of common assessments and parental guidance through the changes from a traditional to a standards-based report card. Dr. Webeler also provided staff development to build the background knowledge teachers required to use Marzano’s six-step process in teaching academic vocabulary in all subject areas, K-8.
Dr. Webeler is a dynamic presenter who translates educational theory into instructional practice through engaging cooperative activities teachers can use in their classrooms.
